Because of this, I feel that it is a very under appreciated subgenre of metal. Unfortunately for most, the popularity of Norwegian black metal overshadowed the material that Greece was putting out at the time. The Hellenic black metal scene took place from the late 80’s and early to mid 90’s in Greece at about the same time that the Norwegian scene was thriving. So grab some grapes and a palm frond fan, and let’s have a Hellenic black metal thread.
